In July 2017, a hackathon was organised by Infosys Chandigarh Development Center for school and college students. The two-day Hackathon, organized at the Infosys (IT park) campus, aimed at nurturing the students through practical experience in real-time project environments using industry best practices and frameworks. The event witnessed participation from 26 educational institutions with separate tracks for school and college level students.
More than 136 students in teams of 3-4 each, developed IT solutions to their respective problem statements. There were 15 Infosys employees to guide and mentor these teams on several technical aspects and helped them to maintain consistency in their solutions.
Ishika Aggarwal, Founder, iota Analytics Pvt Ltd, adjudged the competition. "The enthusiasm of the students was amazing. I am happy to see so many budding entrepreneurs in Chandigarh", she said.
Other panellists included Ajay Shrivastava, Additional Director, STPI, Navdeep Gill, CEO Xenon Stack, Vikas Ahuja, DC Head, Infosys Chandigarh, Rishi Pratap Singh, Principal, Infosys, and Anuj Kumar, HR, Infosys.
The Chief Guest for the event, Shri Anurag Aggarwal, Home Secretary, Chandigarh, felicitated the winning teams.
